Profits in China's integrated circuit industry, including computing chips and memory chips, surged 18.5-fold year on year in the first seven months of 2026, as accelerated artificial intelligence (AI) expansion triggered demand for computing-related products, Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Thursday.
